Role overview
Technical lead for SAP custom development and extensibility across S/4HANA and BTP environments. The role owns technical direction for RICEFW delivery, including design, development, testing, code quality, release readiness, and modernization from classic ABAP toward Clean Core practices. It combines architecture oversight with hands-on delivery and team mentorship across distributed technical groups.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and testing of SAP reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, workflows, and extensibility solutions. - Guide implementations using ABAP Cloud, RAP, CDS, OData, CAP, Fiori, and Clean Core methodologies. - Own technical designs for delivery workstreams, facilitate design workshops, conduct code reviews, and provide architecture signoff. - Drive custom-code remediation, adoption of released APIs, performance tuning, defect resolution, and release preparation. - Coordinate unit testing, DevOps promotion, transport inputs, technical documentation, and evidence required for delivery governance. - Mentor global teams and communicate technical decisions clearly across different levels of experience and geographic locations.
Requirements
- At least seven years of SAP ABAP development experience. - Hands-on expertise with ABAP Cloud and RAP. - Experience applying Clean Core extensibility principles and modernizing custom SAP development. - Strong knowledge of CDS data modeling, including CDS, AMDP, and OData. - Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 and SAP BTP, including Cloud Foundry or the ABAP Environment. - U.S. citizenship, including dual citizenship, and eligibility to obtain a government security clearance.
Nice to have
- Certification in ABAP Cloud, BTP, solution architecture, or SAP Business AI. - Experience with SAP Build, CAP using Node.js or Java, Git-based transports, CI/CD, automated testing, or ADT. - Familiarity with enterprise AI assistants, generative AI grounding, retrieval-augmented generation, or related SAP AI capabilities. - Understanding of utilities-industry business processes.
