Role overview
Build and improve the development infrastructure that helps engineering teams deliver software reliably and efficiently. This hands-on platform engineering role includes designing multi-component systems, maintaining CI/CD tooling, and addressing operational issues. You’ll also contribute to planning and reviews and help other engineers improve their work.
Responsibilities - Design and deliver complex features for development infrastructure, contributing to the roadmap for the area. - Build and maintain CI/CD tools and services that make development and releases more reliable and efficient. - Improve GitHub Actions infrastructure, base Docker images, and build and deployment pipelines, with attention to scale, performance, and cost. - Investigate and resolve on-call issues, including unclear incidents, and address underlying systemic gaps. - Use generative AI tools to explore solutions, adapting suggestions to production needs and maintainability constraints. - Take part in planning, code reviews, and team routines, and coach other engineers.
Requirements - At least three years of hands-on professional engineering experience building backend systems or platforms. - At least two years of experience working with Python. - Experience delivering complex projects end to end in a cloud-native environment. - Experience operating production CI/CD, build, or deployment systems, including on-call and incident response. - Understanding of distributed systems, containers, and microservices. - Practical use of generative AI tools in everyday engineering work.
Nice to have - Experience with GitHub Actions, Go, Bazel, Docker, or Kubernetes. - Work with engineering productivity, developer experience, or development infrastructure teams. - Familiarity with tools such as Codex or Claude, or with AI-first engineering workflows.
Benefits and work setup - Published base salary range: $149,200–$214,500 USD. - The role may also include bonus or incentive pay, equity, and a benefits package.
