Program Manager

Role overview

This program management role provides overall leadership, coordination, and execution oversight for cybersecurity architecture, engineering, operations, modernization, and support work within a large federal agency program. The position serves as the primary management interface between contractor personnel and government stakeholders, ensuring activities remain aligned with contract requirements and mission priorities.

Responsibilities

- Provide overall program and contract management leadership for cybersecurity, cloud security, architecture, engineering, risk and compliance, DevSecOps, AI, cryptography, and related technical functions.

- Serve as the primary management interface with contracting officers, federal program leadership, and other government stakeholders.

- Translate government requirements and priorities into actionable work plans, assignments, schedules, and technical direction for multidisciplinary contractor teams.

- Develop, maintain, and update the Contractor Project Management Plan, work breakdown structure, schedules, dependencies, milestones, risk registers, and project baselines throughout the period of performance.

- Monitor execution against approved baselines, identify deviations, and coordinate corrective actions or government escalations as needed.

- Coordinate closely with the Technical Lead and specialized subject matter experts on security architecture, cloud security, risk, engineering, emerging technologies, and modernization initiatives.

- Manage competing priorities and make informed trade-off decisions involving scope, schedule, resources, risk, technical complexity, and government priorities.

Requirements

- Minimum of 10 years of information security experience, including at least 5 years focused on cybersecurity and cloud security at a large government agency of comparable size and scope.

- Expertise in project management, security architecture, and security engineering with the ability to translate customer requirements into actionable team work.

- Experience managing IT and cloud design, security, development, systems engineering, and implementation efforts.

- Working knowledge of federal Assessment and Authorization and Authority to Operate activities, along with cybersecurity architecture and engineering requirements under FedRAMP and the Risk Management Framework.

- Familiarity with federal security solutions and policies, processes, and standards.

Nice to have

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, information assurance, information security, information resource management, or a related field.

- Certifications such as PMP, CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, CISM, CISA, CCISO, CASP+/SecurityX, GCED, GCIH, GSLC, or CCNP Security.

Benefits and work setup

- Salary range of approximately $86,896 to $130,000 USD, with final compensation based on experience and other factors.
