Remote job
Principal Product Manager - Vertical Data
Job details
About this role
Role overview The Principal Product Manager owns a portfolio of vertical datasets end to end, from sourcing and entity resolution through platform delivery, pricing, and revenue generation. Working on the team responsible for specialized go-to-market data, this role serves as the internal subject matter expert on the datasets themselves, the underlying sources, the competitive landscape, and how customers actually use the data to close deals.
Responsibilities - Define what each dataset is and who it is for, source data from public records, partner licensing, and internal extraction, and set the bar for coverage, accuracy, and entity resolution. - Partner with data engineering and platform engineering to get datasets out of the warehouse and live across APIs, model context protocols, and applications, owning requirements, use-case queries, testing, and handoffs. - Own pricing and packaging including how datasets appear in the price book, what is licensed in bulk versus per record, supplemental terms, and bundling with core and other vertical data. - Enable both product-led and sales-led motions through in-product discoverability, enablement content, data reference guides, use cases, and positioning for vertical selling. - Sit with sales on strategic accounts, get in front of customers, and shape the dataset and offer to fit real use cases, including presenting, listening, and iterating on the product. - Combine multiple datasets into solutions and workflows tailored to a strategic vertical or customer, displacing the point solutions those buyers use today. - Run point across data, engineering, pricing, legal, and marketing to keep datasets moving at every stage, prioritizing the portfolio based on revenue potential, customer pull, and lift to core data.
Requirements - Commercially minded, with experience owning or sitting close to a revenue number and treating pricing and packaging as product decisions. - Heavy customer-facing background, comfortable leading enterprise customer calls and shaping deals alongside sales teams. - Experience taking multiple datasets and turning them into a product or workflow that served a specific market, ideally in financial services, insurance, or another data-heavy vertical. - Comfort owning the full product management lifecycle, from discovery and requirements through launch, enablement, and ongoing iteration. - Data fluency, including working in SQL and understanding entity resolution and the tradeoffs behind building reliable data at scale. - Ability to operate as a principal without heavy scaffolding, coordinating across multiple teams to ship.
Benefits and work setup - Remote role with a disclosed U.S. base salary range plus potential bonus, commission, equity, and additional benefits. - Comprehensive benefits package alongside holistic mind, body, and lifestyle programs.
