Security Engineer (AppSec)

Role overview This is a remote, full-time Application Security Engineer position on a distributed engineering team. The role partners with engineers, designers, and product owners to design and deliver secure software solutions, taking ownership of features while promoting technical excellence across products that serve global users.

Responsibilities - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and ship secure, high-impact software features - Apply application security methodologies and tooling throughout the development lifecycle to identify vulnerabilities early - Take ownership of feature areas and contribute to scaling products to a global audience - Drive technical excellence by championing clean, maintainable code and design practices - Mentor junior engineers and help foster a positive, learning-oriented team culture - Communicate security considerations effectively to remote teammates and stakeholders

Requirements - At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering or a closely related role - Strong, hands-on expertise with application security methodologies and associated tools - Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code and designs - Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English for effective remote collaboration - Demonstrated passion for mentoring junior team members and contributing to team culture

Nice to have - Experience working within remote-first or distributed engineering organizations - Background contributing to security reviews, threat modeling, or secure design practices
