Data Engineer (Python / Spark)

Role overview A fully remote engineering team is hiring a Data Engineer with strong Python and Apache Spark expertise to design and ship data pipelines that power software products used at global scale. The role sits inside a small, senior, product-oriented engineering group, collaborating closely with designers, product managers, and fellow engineers on end-to-end delivery rather than narrow isolated tickets.

Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and processing jobs in Python and Spark. - Partner with cross-functional teams to translate product and analytics needs into reliable data solutions. - Take ownership of features from design through delivery, contributing to architectural decisions and technical direction. - Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and uphold engineering quality standards across the data layer. - Mentor junior engineers, review pull requests, and help foster a positive, collaborative remote team culture. - Continuously improve performance, reliability, and observability of data workflows.

Requirements - 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering or a closely related data engineering role. - Strong hands-on expertise with Python and Apache Spark for large-scale data processing. - Solid grasp of data engineering methodologies, tooling, and best practices for production systems. - Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code and designs. - Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English, suited to a remote-first environment. - Demonstrated passion for mentoring junior teammates and contributing to team culture.
