Role overview
A senior Android engineering role focused on closing the quality gap between Android and iOS in a consumer product. The hire will own the platform end to end, from performance and stability through OEM-specific quirks that often get ignored elsewhere. The work covers the full release pipeline and the unglamorous Android bugs nobody else on the team is equipped to triage.
Responsibilities
- Own Android end to end, including performance, stability, and UX consistency with the iOS counterpart - Make calling and notifications reliable across a wide range of OEM devices and Android skins - Drive the build, signing, and store-release pipeline for the Android app - Triage the Android-specific bugs that fall outside the expertise of the rest of the engineering team
Requirements
- Five or more years shipping consumer Android apps to production - Strong command of Kotlin and the Android lifecycle - Real experience debugging device- and OEM-specific issues, not just emulator-side ones
