Role overview
This worldwide, mid-level Manual QA Engineer role is centered on validating web products through functional, usability, and user-interface testing. The engineer will work closely with developers, designers, and business analysts from feature definition through delivery, helping identify issues early, maintain dependable test coverage, and support a healthy development and CI/CD process.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to feature scoping, testing estimates, requirement analysis, and delivery planning. - Design, maintain, and execute checklists, test plans, test sets, and detailed test cases. - Perform primarily functional and UX/UI testing, with attention to risk and the difference between critical and lower-priority coverage. - Report, track, and help investigate defects while keeping project and test-execution status visible. - Collaborate across development, design, and analysis disciplines and work independently across multiple projects. - Help maintain the quality and operational health of the project’s development and CI/CD flow.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience testing web software. - Advanced written and spoken English communication skills. - Practical experience designing, implementing, and executing test cases. - Knowledge of REST APIs and the ability to create requests with Postman. - Familiarity with HTTP, JSON, HTML, CSS, basic SQL, Scrum, the software development lifecycle, and the defect lifecycle. - Experience with Jira and Confluence, plus the ability to work independently in a multi-project environment.
Nice to have
- Experience testing mobile web applications or performing security testing. - Ability to share testing experience and contribute knowledge to the wider team. - Familiarity with gRPC APIs and tools such as Kreya, as well as Xray, Supabase, or Lens.
