About this role
Role overview Assess manufacturing requests and prepare accurate, timely quotes by interpreting CAD models and technical drawings, estimating production costs, and evaluating manufacturability. The role connects technical analysis with commercial coordination: pricing calculations and design-for-manufacturing feedback are documented for sales teams, while quote workflows and automation are improved. Quotes are targeted for delivery within one to two working hours where possible.
Responsibilities - Review 3D models and 2D drawings in English for quoting and manufacturability. - Estimate costs for materials, machining time, and post-processing. - Recommend suitable manufacturing processes and provide design-for-manufacturing feedback. - Organize requests for quotation, clarify technical details with sales and engineering colleagues, and pass calculations to the commercial team. - Maintain quote databases and update records promptly. - Support workflow improvements and process automation while working to meet quote turnaround targets.
Requirements - Higher technical education in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or a related field. - At least six years of metalworking or mechanical engineering experience. - Expert knowledge of machining and fabrication, including turning, milling, CNC machining, EDM, cutting, sheet metal work, and welding. - Understanding of finishing and treatment methods such as polishing, hardening, heat treatment, anodizing, blasting, coatings, and painting. - Knowledge of metals, plastics, and composites and their processing characteristics. - English at B2 level or higher; strong drawing interpretation, manufacturability assessment, attention to detail, and ability to explain technical matters clearly under time pressure.
Nice to have - Tooling and fixture design experience for machining, assembly, or welding. - Working knowledge of coatings and heat treatment, and some CAM programming experience. Relevant tools named in the source include SolidWorks, Fusion 360, and CypCut; further CAM training is possible. - Interest in adopting CAD/CAM, CRM, and cloud-based tools.
