Lead Engineer - Accounting Core

Role overview A Staff-level engineering role focused on solving problems at scale across distributed systems that serve millions of global users. The position blends deep technical leadership on architecture and code design with mentorship, helping a cross-functional team modernize monoliths, mature CI/CD and testing practices, and raise the bar for engineering craft.

Responsibilities - Influence the architecture and implementation of distributed systems, refactoring complex monoliths into scalable, reliable components. - Make major code design decisions and contribute to global engineering standards. - Coach and mentor engineers through complex technical challenges and code review. - Modernize systems by decomposing monolithic components into distributed architectures. - Improve developer productivity through CI/CD, tooling, and TDD practices. - Build and maintain a diverse stack that includes C#, .NET, React, AWS, and Kubernetes. - Develop technical solution designs aligned with long-term engineering frameworks.

Requirements - Proven track record delivering and operating complex, large-scale systems in distributed or high-availability environments, with strong fundamentals and the ability to ramp across adjacent technologies. - Background designing and building high-quality software across multiple languages and tools. - Ability to lead major code design decisions and contribute to wider technical solutioning. - Experience with modern engineering practices, including automated testing, refactoring, and agile delivery. - Demonstrated mentoring of other engineers through supportive coaching. - A growth mindset with a passion for sharing technical knowledge and a drive for technical excellence at scale.

Nice to have - Familiarity with accounting, fintech, or compliance-heavy domains is helpful but not required.
