About this role

Role overview

Lead the end-to-end delivery of a data transformation engagement, from initial kickoff and assessment through scope definition, execution, operationalisation and formal handover. The role sits at the intersection of business sponsors, central programme teams and technical specialists, ensuring that data platform adoption, governance choices and ownership decisions translate into a durable operating model. It is a senior, hands-on programme leadership position for someone who can challenge constructively while protecting delivery quality.

Responsibilities

- Drive business and technology alignment around data platform adoption, operating model design, data ownership, stewardship, data quality and handover. - Validate genuine business unit readiness before proceeding, covering sponsor commitment, SME availability, data owner authority, source access, decision rights and remediation ownership. - Act as the main engagement interface for business sponsors, senior data stakeholders, central programme teams and technology leads. - Coordinate data architects, platform engineers, data quality and analytics, and knowledge management contributors, translating technical findings into business-readable decisions. - Own risks, issues, decision logs and escalation flow, escalating early when local concerns may affect readiness, delivery quality or handover.

Requirements

- 10+ years in IT, data, platform or digital transformation delivery, with at least 5 years in senior programme, engagement or data practice leadership. - Direct delivery experience with data platform, governance or transformation work such as data quality remediation, master data or canonical model definition, stewardship operating models, or migration to a modern data platform. - Practical fluency in operating model design, stewardship, source ownership, lineage, integration and platform adoption, discussed at delivery depth rather than slide level. - Strong executive stakeholder management, including a track record of constructively challenging stakeholders on weak readiness, scope, ownership or data quality. - Structured governance experience with steering meetings, risk and decision logs, escalation paths and formal client checkpoints. - Fluent, high-impact English required.

Nice to have

- Additional European language skills such as Portuguese, French or Spanish, depending on regional clients. - Comfort managing ambiguity, pressure, conflicting priorities and multiple concurrent engagements.

Benefits and work setup

- Remote role based in the European Union region; a valid work permit is required. - Recruitment flow includes CV review, an HR call, an interview, a client interview and a final decision.
