Data Quality Analyst / Data Tester (Bulgaria/Romania)

Role overview Join a data platform modernisation programme focused on migrating legacy and operational datasets into a cloud-based analytics warehouse. As a Data Quality Analyst, you will safeguard the integrity of data flowing through ingestion and transformation pipelines, ensuring downstream consumers receive accurate, production-grade datasets for reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities - Validate migrated data across source and target systems, performing reconciliation, profiling, and discrepancy analysis. - Design and execute data quality checks covering completeness, duplicates, referential integrity, aggregations, and KPI accuracy. - Test ETL/ELT pipelines for transformation logic, historical consistency, and business-rule compliance. - Investigate root causes of data defects and partner with engineers to drive resolution. - Document test scenarios, validation rules, and defects within an Agile delivery workflow. - Translate business and reporting requirements into measurable test cases and validation rules.

Requirements - Strong SQL skills including complex joins, window functions, aggregations, and data comparisons. - Hands-on experience with data quality testing, reconciliation, and migration validation. - Practical experience with Google BigQuery and modern cloud data architectures. - Understanding of data lineage, schemas, and data quality dimensions such as accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. - Familiarity with Git-based development workflows and Agile delivery practices. - Eligibility to work from within the European Union region with a valid work permit.

Nice to have - Experience with Python for test automation or data analysis. - Familiarity with dbt tests, Looker, or similar BI and reporting platforms. - Exposure to Airflow, Cloud Composer, or other orchestration frameworks. - Background reconciling retail or eCommerce transactional data. - Practical use of AI-assisted development tools to enhance data engineering workflows.
