Remote job
Senior Product Manager II - Vendor Spend
Job details
About this role
Role overview
A senior product leader is needed to own the vendor-spend domain of an AI-driven production finance platform. The work centers on how production companies pay their vendors—across payment methods, workflows, tracking, and reporting—broadening and accelerating disbursement, moving toward straight-through processing, and opening new spend channels while keeping every transaction accurate, compliant, and fraud-resistant. This is a high-leverage role sitting at the intersection of cash flow, fraud and AML exposure, tax reporting, and the general ledger, partnering with engineering, design, accounting, and banking-infrastructure teams.
Responsibilities
- Define and defend the roadmap and vision for vendor spend, translating customer needs and business priorities into a sequenced plan with clear adoption, cost-reduction, fraud-reduction, and revenue metrics.
- Streamline how productions pay AP vendors across ACH (with faster settlement targets), checks, direct-to-bank processing, card payments, and international rails, pushing toward true straight-through processing.
- Lead a 0→1 expense-management initiative involving issued spend and purchasing cards plus virtual cards for invoice payments, including issuance, controls, and reconciliation back into accounting.
- Champion accuracy, compliance, and fraud protection, including positive pay and check-fraud prevention, ACH transaction screening, AML controls, and vendor tax reporting (1099).
- Partner with banking-infrastructure teams on payment rails, defining clean service boundaries so vendor-payment workflows and underlying bank transport evolve independently.
- Triage competing demands from product, operations, sales, finance, risk, legal, and support, managing them as part of the roadmap rather than interruptions, and use AI tools daily to accelerate discovery, analysis, writing, and prototyping.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience in SaaS, fintech, or another complex technical environment, with a track record of measurable outcomes (adoption, market access, cost or fraud reduction, revenue) and the specific contribution to each.
- Domain proximity to money movement—background in accounts payable, vendor or B2B payments, card issuance, or accounting is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a bias toward action, balanced against the compliance and quality bar a payments product demands.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to become a subject-matter expert in an unfamiliar, technically complex domain.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, producing clear, structured, decision-oriented writing that keeps engineering and cross-functional partners aligned.
- Data self-sufficiency, independently pulling and interpreting data using tools like SQL, product-analytics platforms, or data warehouses to define, track, and measure success.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with AP or vendor payments, B2B money movement, or card issuance, including payment rails (ACH/NACHA, checks, positive pay, direct-to-bank, processor integrations) and the tradeoffs in fund flows, settlement timing, and reconciliation.
- 0→1 experience standing up a new payments or card capability under real ambiguity.
- Risk and compliance background in fraud or AML controls, transaction screening, or 1099 tax reporting in a financial product.
- Scale-up experience at a high-growth SaaS company, maturing product process while keeping speed.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote position open to candidates across the USA and Canada.
- Unlimited paid time off.
- Health and dental benefits.
- Up to roughly $1,500 USD / $2,025 CAD toward home IT setup and a small monthly stipend toward internet or cell phone service.
- Up to 2% matching on retirement savings (RRSP / 401K).
- Learning and development opportunities.
