About this role

Role overview

Lead product development for an AI-native platform serving home-improvement businesses. This is a hands-on product and engineering role spanning customer discovery, architecture, implementation, AI workflows, security, and measurement. You will work closely with engineers, customer-facing teammates, and senior technical leadership to turn real operational problems into reliable software.

Responsibilities

- Own product areas end to end, from customer discovery and problem definition through architecture, delivery, and outcome measurement. - Design and ship workflows involving voice, SMS, web leads, quoting, payments, homeowner communication, project handoffs, and business reporting. - Write production code, review pull requests, debug runtime failures, design data models, and trace issues through distributed-system logs. - Build and evaluate AI-powered features, including prompts, structured outputs, test cases, and evaluation frameworks before release. - Make pragmatic decisions on security, performance, accessibility, data protection, and operational reliability from the start. - Participate in incident response for systems operating across communications, mobile, payments, and web, helping triage issues and choose mitigations.

Requirements

- At least five years of combined product management and software engineering experience, in any mix that demonstrates strength in both disciplines. - Proven ability to ship and understand production software using TypeScript, Swift, Python, or an equivalent language. - Experience owning a product area through discovery, technical design, implementation, launch, and measurement. - Professional or serious hands-on use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, Cursor, or similar. - Strong security instincts, including OWASP fundamentals, credential management, PII protection, payment-data boundaries, and least-privilege design. - Ability to communicate directly with non-technical customers and make effective decisions with incomplete information.

Nice to have

- Voice AI and speech-to-text experience with platforms or providers such as VAPI, Twilio, Deepgram, ElevenLabs, or Whisper. - SwiftUI, push notifications, background synchronization, React Native, or App Store delivery experience. - Payment integrations involving Stripe Connect, embedded payment flows, webhooks, and PCI-scope management. - Experience with complex workflow engines, rich-media processing, partner or manufacturer APIs, vertical SaaS, or multi-tenant architecture.

Benefits and work setup

- Competitive base salary benchmarked against AI-native startups, with compensation shared early. - Early-stage equity with a four-year vesting schedule and one-year cliff. - MacBook Pro and other equipment needed to work effectively.
