Systems Engineer - Aerospace

Role overview Join an engineering organization focused on solid rocket propulsion and integrated space systems as a Systems Engineer. The role covers the full product lifecycle, including systems engineering, integration, verification, validation, and technical coordination across propulsion subsystems and their interfaces. It is primarily onsite at an engineering facility and reports to an Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities - Lead systems engineering activities for solid rocket propulsion hardware across development, qualification, production, and sustainment phases. - Define, manage, and trace requirements while coordinating interfaces between propulsion subsystems and the broader vehicle or mission system. - Plan and execute integration, verification, and validation activities, including analysis, test campaigns, and technical reviews. - Apply model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and related tools to capture architecture, behavior, and interfaces. - Coordinate across mechanical, thermal, structural, test, and program teams to resolve technical issues and manage risk. - Produce and maintain clear technical documentation supporting design reviews, customer milestones, and certification efforts.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, with 4–15 years of relevant aerospace, propulsion, or systems engineering experience (a Master's degree may substitute for up to two years of experience). - Hands-on experience applying systems engineering principles to complex aerospace hardware, propulsion systems, or other integrated technical products. - Familiarity with requirements management tools and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) concepts. - Experience supporting solid rocket motors or solid propulsion systems, including motor performance, propulsion subsystem interfaces, development, test, qualification, or production support. - Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance; U.S. person status required to satisfy ITAR/EAR export control regulations.

Nice to have - Experience working on defense, intelligence, or national security space programs. - Background supporting flight hardware through qualification, acceptance, or flight campaigns.
