Remote job
Senior Digital IC Engineer — RTL Design & Verification
Job details
About this role
Role overview Own the digital subsystem of a mixed-signal ASIC, from clarifying system behavior through RTL design, verification, synthesis, and handoff. You’ll work with firmware and analog engineers to turn interface decisions into testable hardware, while the broader team handles analog circuit design and full-chip physical implementation and signoff.
Responsibilities - Clarify requirements and interfaces with firmware and analog collaborators, document decisions, and translate them into implementation requirements and tests. - Develop RTL for digital control and configuration logic, making design tradeoffs and integration risks visible. - Create a requirements-based verification plan, self-checking testbenches, assertions, and regressions for normal behavior, corner cases, reset, and recovery. - Use coverage to find verification gaps, investigate failures, and confirm fixes address their causes. - Own lint, clock and reset domain crossing analysis, synthesis, timing constraints, and static timing analysis. - Deliver a reproducible build and test flow, integration documentation, and a clear record of remaining dependencies.
Requirements - At least six years of relevant experience and personal ownership of digital or mixed-signal ASIC work through RTL design and synthesis. - Experience taking a chip through tapeout, with the ability to explain your specific contribution using non-confidential examples. - Strong RTL design and verification skills, including testbenches, assertions, regressions, and coverage-driven gap finding. - Experience with lint, clock and reset domain crossing analysis, synthesis, and static timing analysis. - Ability to resolve unclear requirements with cross-functional engineers and document agreed interfaces. - US work eligibility; candidates must be US citizens or hold a US visa.
Benefits and work setup - Remote role based in the US, with regular overlap with a Pacific-time engineering team. - Contract engagement is the priority; scope, weekly commitment, and compensation are agreed before starting. Full-time employment is also considered, with an annual base salary range of $180,000–$250,000 USD; contract compensation is set separately.
