Principal Thermal Solutions Engineer - Paris/Grenoble
Job details
About this role
Role overview A principal-level opportunity to lead a European forward-deployment team focused on driving adoption of a physics-based AI hardware design platform across leading engineering organizations. The role blends deep thermal simulation and cooling expertise with customer-facing leadership, helping enterprise customers validate and optimize next-generation hardware designs and thermal management systems.
Responsibilities - Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of thermal engineers across Europe, defining technical direction and driving field execution. - Collaborate closely with sales to lead technical conversations, scope proof-of-concept evaluations, and deliver compelling product demonstrations. - Guide customer engineering teams through evaluation phases by overseeing simulation setup, running complex test cases, and interpreting results to prove technical and business value. - Own customer enablement through onboarding, deployment pipelines, account expansion, training, and advanced troubleshooting. - Identify pain points and workflow bottlenecks, partnering with internal product and engineering teams to turn field feedback into new platform features. - Represent the platform at major industry conferences and semiconductor events through presentations and live demonstrations.
Requirements - Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field. - Expert-level mastery of commercial thermal simulation software (e.g., Flotherm, Ansys Icepak/Fluent, Simcenter STAR-CCM+, or equivalent) with 15+ years of hands-on thermal simulation experience. - Strong knowledge of semiconductor packaging technologies, advanced packaging (e.g., 2.5D/3D IC), or foundry ecosystems. - Prior customer-facing experience with the ability to build trusted relationships with client engineering teams. - Practical programming experience in Python or C++ for workflow automation and simulation data analysis. - Proven leadership experience with strong communication skills for both technical and executive audiences.
Nice to have - Familiarity with structural mechanics (FEA/stress) and/or Signal Integrity / Power Integrity (SI/PI) workflows. - Direct experience commercializing technical software (EDA or CAE tools) into major semiconductor and electronics enterprises. - Background in technical pre-sales, application engineering, or strategic technical sales.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote position based in Paris or Grenoble, France, with close collaboration across distributed product and engineering teams. - Moderate travel across continental Europe, with occasional intercontinental travel to the US. - Full-time role within a fast-growing startup environment focused on redefining how next-generation silicon and hardware systems are designed.
