Systems Design Engineer - Government

Role overview Translate customer and product needs into system requirements, architecture, and detailed design decisions for government connectivity products. You will work across product management, customers, and engineering teams to shape solutions and refine them throughout development as user needs and market conditions evolve.

Responsibilities - Break down high-level product requirements into system and subsystem designs with product leads, customers, and engineering counterparts. - Develop and manage requirements, architecture definitions, and detailed design decisions across the product lifecycle. - Work with development teams to revise designs and confirm that solutions continue to meet customer needs. - Consider user workflows alongside the data, backend, cloud, satellite communications, and networking infrastructure that supports the product. - Define performance, security, and functional requirements while preserving appropriate implementation flexibility for engineering teams.

Requirements - At least 5 years of systems engineering design and requirements management experience; work involving data platforms, cloud applications, satellite communications, or networking is relevant. - Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience. - Solid understanding of full-stack development frameworks. - Ability to develop and assess system requirements for performance, security, and functionality. - Ability to collaborate with engineering teams on architecture and design decisions that address customer needs.

Nice to have Familiarity with model-based systems engineering tools such as Cameo.
