Role overview
A mid-level ServiceNow Developer is needed to deliver custom platform solutions for a federal customer whose programs underpin mission-critical public services. The role is fully remote and full-time, focused on translating operational requirements into maintainable, secure technical implementations. You will partner with platform architects, analysts, and citizen developers to ship workflow automation, integrations, and scoped applications.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, configure, and release custom applications across the ServiceNow platform. - Develop integrations connecting ServiceNow with downstream and upstream systems, ensuring data integrity and reliable exchanges. - Implement Service Catalog offerings, Flow Designer automations, and locally developed apps aligned with platform standards. - Move code through CI/CD pipelines and coordinate deployments across development, test, and production environments. - Contribute to peer reviews, technical walkthroughs, and proof-of-concept evaluations with architects and stakeholders. - Diagnose and resolve moderately to highly complex defects through scripting, configuration, and structured troubleshooting. - Coach citizen developers and collaborate inside Agile, cross-functional delivery squads.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline. - Three or more years building solutions natively on ServiceNow. - An active ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) credential. - Working knowledge of ITSM modules, scoped app development, and integration patterns. - Solid scripting capability with JavaScript and ServiceNow APIs. - Clear written and verbal communication skills when engaging technical and non-technical audiences. - U.S. citizenship, current U.S. residency, residence in the U.S. for at least three of the last five years, and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Nice to have
- Hands-on familiarity with the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB). - Experience administering PaaS, SaaS, or IaaS environments in federal settings.
