About this role
Role overview A technical account manager role based in Barcelona, focused on planning, architecting, and managing professional services engagements for data resilience and data protection solutions. The position combines solution architecture, project management, and customer enablement, with regular onsite customer work across the Iberia region and overnight business travel as needed.
Responsibilities - Contribute to proposals and statements of work, including effort estimation for solution implementation - Drive delivery of professional services engagements from assessment and design through implementation and post-installation support - Provide overall project guidance including plans, schedules, communication plans, resource plans, and status updates - Analyze installed customer environments and recommend optimal configurations for the data protection platform - Author white papers, solution guides, best-practice documentation, and custom customer-facing materials - Deliver onsite knowledge transfer sessions and act as a bridge between the customer and the internal support organization - Spot additional customer needs that can be addressed with the broader product portfolio and feed improvements back into internal processes and documentation
Requirements - Industry credentials such as VMware VCP or Microsoft MCSE, plus a project management foundation such as PRINCE2, ITIL, or PMP - Bachelor's degree in a technology field, or equivalent combination of education and experience - Hands-on experience with core data protection and availability products - Several years of consulting and project management experience running multiple simultaneous customer engagements - Deep familiarity with virtualization technologies including VMware and Hyper-V, plus storage and backup architectures from vendors such as EMC, NetApp, IBM, HP/3PAR, Hitachi, and Dell - Working knowledge of networking protocols and equipment such as Fibre Channel and Ethernet, plus enterprise applications like Exchange, SQL, and Oracle - Business proficiency in Spanish, Catalan, and English
