Role overview This Customer Success Engineer role sits at the intersection of technical depth and customer strategy, owning customer outcomes after the sale closes for a Kubernetes-based open source platform focused on tenant isolation and AI/ML infrastructure. The position partners with platform engineering leaders, DevOps teams, and executive buyers to drive adoption, surface expansion opportunities, and mitigate churn across a portfolio ranging from AI cloud providers to large enterprises. The role emphasizes proactive engagement, technical credibility, and commercial ownership of renewals and growth.
Responsibilities - Lead end-to-end customer onboardings, from sales handoff through project close, including architecture workshops, platform installation, access setup, integration configuration, and operational readiness reviews. - Build and maintain living customer success plans that document business objectives, KPIs, adoption milestones, and a forward roadmap. - Translate platform adoption into business outcomes, connecting cluster growth, provisioning time savings, and developer self-service to metrics such as cost efficiency, engineering velocity, risk reduction, and ROI. - Own the customer relationship cadence through regular check-ins, Quarterly Business Reviews, and Executive Business Reviews. - Hold credible technical conversations around deployment patterns, RBAC, tenant isolation, integrations, and Day 2 operations, and assist with designing optimal deployment architectures. - Own renewals starting 90+ days out, identify expansion triggers, and partner with sales counterparts to convert them into growth. - Act as the internal voice of the customer, escalating blockers and feeding structured feedback into Product and Engineering.
Requirements - Experience in a technical post-sales role such as customer success, technical account management, or professional services, with a track record of driving adoption and measurable outcomes across a portfolio of technical customers. - Hands-on familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies, including confidence discussing RBAC, tenant isolation, and broader cloud infrastructure topics. - Ability to operate credibly with both executive stakeholders and hands-on platform engineers, adapting communication without losing depth. - A structured, proactive working style using success plans, adoption milestones, and renewal timelines, with the judgement to identify risk early. - Commercial awareness of what drives renewal and expansion in a SaaS or platform business, grounded in solving real customer problems.
Nice to have - Experience supporting AI, ML, or GPU-intensive workloads and the deployment patterns associated with them. - Familiarity with open source communities and contributing back to projects customers rely on.
