Senior Software Engineer, AI Developer Experience

Role overview Build the infrastructure and developer workflows that help engineers use AI tools and agents reliably in everyday software development. The work spans agent systems, evaluation, developer experience, and product decisions, with a focus on learning from real usage and improving quality over time.

Responsibilities - Design and improve background-agent infrastructure for repeatable, observable engineering tasks. - Measure agent performance using task results, quality, human intervention, cost, and other signals; create evaluation sets and feedback loops to guide improvement. - Assess AI coding, review, and testing tools against engineers’ needs and integrate those that prove useful. - Improve access to shared tools, code review workflows, and guidance for AI-enabled development. - Work with engineers to identify workflow friction, validate solutions, and make product tradeoffs. - Lead complex projects from exploration to delivery, contributing to design reviews, testing, observability, and reliability.

Requirements - Substantial professional software engineering experience and a record of technical leadership on teams or complex projects. - Strong skills in designing, building, testing, and operating reliable systems. - Experience improving AI systems through evaluation, measurement, and iterative quality improvements. - Background in developer tools, AI-enabled workflows, agent systems, infrastructure, or a related area. - Ability to make progress through ambiguity, break down complex work, manage dependencies, and communicate clearly. - Hands-on, collaborative approach, sound product judgment, and experience using AI tools responsibly in day-to-day work.
