Role overview
Own the product strategy for underwriting and verification experiences supporting a home-equity line of credit. The role focuses on helping more qualified applicants move through decisioning with less friction while maintaining appropriate risk, compliance, capital, and portfolio-quality standards. You will work across Engineering, Risk, Machine Learning, Capital, and Compliance to expand eligibility, increase automation, and improve approval speed and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Own the multi-quarter strategy and roadmap for decisioning and verification, translating borrower, risk, capital, and compliance needs into priorities and launch plans. - Partner with Capital, Compliance, Risk, and Machine Learning teams to expand underwriting guidelines and serve additional borrower segments. - Define and evolve backend underwriting and decisioning logic so complex systems capture relevant dimensions of borrower risk. - Balance data requirements, uncertainty, applicant friction, decision accuracy, and portfolio outcomes when setting product direction. - Increase automation and instant approvals by using additional data sources and machine-learning capabilities, including large language model applications where appropriate. - Use quantitative metrics and qualitative insight to assess outcomes, communicate trade-offs, and improve the experience over time.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience on fast-moving, customer-focused teams. - Experience designing complex backend systems that drive measurable business results. - Experience partnering closely with Machine Learning teams. - Strong quantitative judgment, including comfort making decisions with imperfect information and evaluating risk trade-offs. - Strong product sense with experience creating and executing multi-quarter roadmaps and managing their downstream effects. - Clear communication, rigorous problem-solving, ownership, adaptability, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
