Senior QA Automation Engineer (HELOC)

Role overview

A remote senior QA automation role with end-to-end ownership of quality on a new consumer financial product. The position blends functional and performance testing, infrastructure configuration, and AI-assisted test design, working directly with product teams and contributing to application specifications and architectural design sessions from a quality standpoint.

Responsibilities

- Develop test automation at the pace of feature development using AI tools alongside existing functional and performance test frameworks. - Use LLMs to create feature test plans and build internal knowledge stores that streamline AI-assisted automation and deeper testing efforts. - Define AI workflows that let all developers reuse existing automation, evaluate failures, and troubleshoot environment issues. - Execute functional and performance tests by spinning up disposable environments, deploying microservices with different versions and configurations, and customizing database content. - Customize, configure, and patch services, then deploy infrastructure and code changes all the way through to production. - Analyze log files and reproduce production issues in non-production environments to drive fixes. - Partner with QA platform teams to build solutions for feature validation and test automation.

Requirements

- Ability to develop test automation in Java using Selenium and Playwright in IDEs such as IntelliJ or Eclipse, with and without AI coding assistants. - Experience deploying services in Kubernetes-based environments using tools such as ArgoCD and Jenkins. - Capability to improve efficiency of existing test infrastructure using Docker, Playwright, and headless browser execution. - Familiarity with log aggregators such as SumoLogic or Kibana, and app monitoring tools such as Honeycomb or Grafana. - Comfortable working in Agile methodology. - Passion for automating tests and delivering high-quality features in a fast-paced environment.
