Role overview
A remote Senior Solutions Engineer role embedded in the new business sales organization of a developer-focused communications platform. The position partners closely with account executives to win the technical side of mid-complexity opportunities, working at the seam between customer engineering teams and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Partner with account executives on pre-sales activities including opportunity qualification, product demonstrations, proof-of-concept engagements, RFP responses, design documentation, technical presentations, and enablement sessions - Lead technical discovery, propose architectures, and resolve customer concerns by mapping communications APIs to real business problems - Build and present highly interactive, complex product demonstrations that showcase capabilities to both engineering and non-technical audiences - Establish trusted-advisor status by deeply understanding each customer's technical pain points and recommending best-practice solutions - Run small-to-medium technical projects with limited oversight, proactively identifying process improvements as the team scales - Contribute reusable demos, talk tracks, and enablement material to the broader solutions engineering community
Requirements
- 5+ years of pre-sales experience selling complex technical products, or 6+ years of professional experience supporting technical products combined with customer-facing work in delivery or consulting - Strong communicator and presenter who can translate complex topics to varied audiences, from software engineers to mid-level managers - Working knowledge of software development in at least one relevant programming area - Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience - Ability to independently own low-to-mid-complexity opportunities and lead others to success
Nice to have
- Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure) and general cloud application architecture - Background in telecom, SIP, contact center, or security domains - Experience applying structured sales methodologies
