Senior Azure Cybersecurity Content Engineer

Role overview

A fast-growing online cyber security training platform is seeking a Senior Azure Cybersecurity Content Engineer to lead the creation of advanced cloud security learning material and virtual labs. The role is a senior individual contributor position with technical ownership, mentorship duties, and direct influence over the Azure and cloud security content roadmap. It is fully remote and open to candidates across 35+ countries, with compensation benchmarked by location, seniority, interview performance, and market rates.

Responsibilities

- Lead the research, planning, and production of advanced Azure and cloud security training content and hands-on virtual labs. - Translate complex cloud security concepts into structured, high-quality learning experiences for technical audiences. - Design realistic Azure-focused scenarios that reflect current attacker techniques and defensive workflows. - Mentor other content engineers and contribute to the strategic direction of the Azure content roadmap. - Track emerging cloud threats, attacker techniques, and platform changes, and turn them into teachable material. - Collaborate with content leadership to continuously improve the development process and overall quality bar.

Requirements

- At least 5 years of relevant cyber security industry experience in roles such as Senior SOC Analyst (L3 or L4), Security Engineer, Incident Responder, Threat Hunter, or Digital Forensics Investigator, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure. - Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure across security architecture, identity, networking, monitoring, and incident response tooling. - Expert-level knowledge in core blue team disciplines, including incident detection and response, threat intelligence, log analysis, security monitoring, and digital forensics. - Strong conceptual and practical understanding of networking, computing, and operating systems as they relate to security. - Familiarity with blue team tooling such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, and Entra ID, and methodologies such as MITRE ATT&CK, threat modeling, and log or malware analysis. - Demonstrated ability to research emerging threats and cloud security trends.

Nice to have

- Prior experience designing or delivering structured technical training content. - Certifications such as SC-200, AZ-500, or comparable credentials like SAL1 or CySA+.
