Senior Product Designer

Role overview A senior product designer is needed to shape the core experience of a fast-growing consumer marketplace that connects pet owners with caregivers across iOS, Android, and web. Operating as the lead designer within a product squad, the role carries genuine strategic influence over the direction of the area, owning the most consequential journeys such as onboarding, listing, search, matching, and pre-stay preparation.

Responsibilities - Design mobile-first experiences across iOS, Android, and web, honouring platform conventions while extending a shared design system. - Lead discovery research for the squad, including user interviews, usability studies, and concept tests, and use product analytics together with qualitative signals to guide iteration. - Frame problems and hypotheses with cross-functional partners, selecting the right validation method to confirm the team is building the right thing. - Design AI-powered features for matching, personalisation, and communication with trust and transparency, and use AI tools daily to accelerate exploration, prototyping, and synthesis. - Work closely with product, engineering, user research, content, data, and commercial stakeholders, communicating design rationale, facilitating alignment workshops, and negotiating trade-offs. - Map end-to-end journeys and service relationships rather than solving isolated problems, championing craft and accessibility throughout.

Requirements - A portfolio demonstrating strong systems thinking, with native iOS and Android experience alongside responsive web work. - Background in consumer-facing products where design is expected to land emotionally, not just functionally. - Comfort defining problems in ambiguous settings rather than waiting for fully scoped briefs. - Enthusiastic, day-to-day use of AI tools as part of the design workflow. - Track record of staying engaged in the room when decisions are contested, helping find a path through trade-offs. - Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders around design rationale.

Nice to have - Experience contributing to or evolving a multi-platform design system. - Familiarity with marketplace or two-sided consumer products. - Comfort working remotely within UK tax residency requirements.
