About this role
Role overview A mobile games publisher is hiring a Game Designer to collaborate closely with partner studios in Turkey on casual puzzle titles. The role spans the full design lifecycle, from early concept ideation through to live performance tuning, blending creative game craft with data-informed iteration. It suits a versatile design generalist who is equally comfortable sketching mechanics, balancing level difficulty, and analyzing retention funnels.
Responsibilities - Shape core gameplay loops, player experiences, and monetization strategies for puzzle titles across concept, prototype, and live phases. - Partner with external Turkish development teams throughout the pipeline, guiding work from early ideas through to playable builds. - Invent new mechanics and progression systems that add depth while staying coherent with the overall design language of each title. - Analyze player telemetry, surface trends, and optimize level funnels to improve retention and revenue outcomes. - Work cross-functionally with developers and product stakeholders to keep design aligned with broader product goals. - Monitor top-performing market titles to extract insights on trends and competitive patterns.
Requirements - Three or more years of professional experience as a game designer or in a closely related role. - Demonstrated ability to contribute across mechanics, systems, progression, and end-to-end player experience design. - Comfort using data and player insights to diagnose design problems and recommend evidence-based improvements. - Strong creative problem-solving skills paired with clear communication across cross-functional teams. - Advanced analytical ability to detect patterns, trends, and anomalies in gameplay data. - Hands-on experience balancing levels and optimizing funnels. - Full professional fluency in Turkish, with the ability to collaborate day-to-day with Turkish-speaking partner studios.
Nice to have - Prior game design experience in puzzle genres on the publishing side. - Familiarity with live operations, A/B testing, or other data-informed iteration cycles. - Working knowledge of visual collaboration tools such as Figma for mock-ups and wireframes. - Proficiency using AI tools to generate early prototypes or design concepts. - A track record of contributing to successful hypercasual, casual, or AAA releases.
