Senior Software Engineer, Care Automation

Role overview A senior engineering role on a Care Automation team that builds the systems powering how a customer support organization resolves issues at scale. The work centers on backend services, integrations, and AI-enabled workflows connecting CRM, billing, identity verification, and case management platforms. It is a high-impact, backend-heavy position with significant cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities - Design, build, and own backend services and APIs that underpin customer care agent workflows - Develop integrations across a complex ecosystem of internal and external systems, including CRM, billing middleware, document management, and iPaaS workflow automation tooling - Write automated tests and participate in code reviews to safeguard code quality and reliability - Monitor feature rollouts, respond to incidents, and iterate based on operational data and customer feedback - Partner with product, design, operations, and CRM engineers to translate business processes into maintainable automation - Apply AI-assisted development tools to improve velocity and help shape new approaches to building software

Requirements - 5+ years of experience delivering production backend systems at scale - Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or another object-oriented language - Familiarity with API lifecycle management, including versioning, documentation, and deprecation - Strong understanding of query languages, data modeling, and data distribution - Experience working with microservices and event-driven architectures - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to have - Hands-on experience building with large language models in production environments - Familiarity with Workato or a comparable iPaaS platform - Prior work with Salesforce or other CRM platforms - Comfort working with React and GraphQL
