Senior Manager, Analytics Engineering

Role overview

A senior leadership role overseeing the core analytics layer of an enterprise data warehouse, with responsibility for data modeling strategy and architecture. The position partners closely with engineering and business leadership to define how data is modeled, governed, and exposed at scale. The right candidate will combine deep technical expertise with the ability to lead teams, influence senior stakeholders, and operate effectively under ambiguity.

Responsibilities

- Own the strategy and roadmap for a hub-and-spoke data architecture and drive alignment across domain teams - Lead the team building and maintaining the core analytics layer in the enterprise data warehouse - Set the vision for an AI-ready semantic layer that can extend across business domains - Build, manage, and develop a team of analytics engineers, including hiring, coaching, and growth planning - Partner with senior business, product, and engineering leaders to align on analytics priorities - Represent analytics strategy in cross-functional and leadership forums - Collaborate with data engineering leadership on platform scalability and architectural coherence - Provide technical mentorship and career development across the team

Requirements

- 8+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data engineering - 2+ years of experience managing or formally leading analytics or data engineering teams - 5+ years of experience developing data modeling strategies at scale - 4+ years of hands-on experience developing in dbt - Strong SQL proficiency with a focus on query design and performance - Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment - Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity

Nice to have

- Experience with Airflow - Familiarity with BI dashboard tools such as Sigma or Hex - Background with cloud data warehouses, specifically Snowflake - Python experience - Experience building or scaling an analytics engineering function - SaaS or FinTech enterprise background
