About this role
Role overview Lead the analytics and risk function supporting the optimization and marketing of flexible energy assets across European power markets. The role combines quantitative market analysis, forecasting, risk ownership, and people leadership in an algorithm-driven trading environment. You will turn market data and analytical models into signals, decisions, and controls used by trading and senior leadership.
Responsibilities - Own short- and long-term price and renewable generation forecasting, keeping market views consistent across time horizons. - Develop analytical models and forecasting tools for electricity and renewable energy markets, delivering actionable signals for trading decisions. - Quantitatively assess market trends, regulatory changes, new markets, and product opportunities. - Lead and develop a team of approximately five to seven analysts and data scientists through technical guidance and coaching. - Partner with trading, portfolio management, pricing, sales, and product stakeholders to turn analysis into useful products and services. - Own the risk framework, including limits, exposure monitoring, scenario and stress testing, and reporting to trading and executive leadership.
Requirements - Several years of quantitative analysis experience in European power markets, forecasting, fundamental modeling, or risk. - Strong understanding of day-ahead, intraday, ancillary services, capacity, and local flexibility markets, including how prices are formed. - Experience in technical leadership or clear readiness to take on team leadership responsibilities. - Ability to explain quantitative conclusions clearly so executives and stakeholders can make informed decisions. - Business-fluent English; German is advantageous.
