Quality Assurance Engineer

Role overview

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to own end-to-end quality for a fast-growing e-commerce platform serving tens of thousands of merchants worldwide. The role spans test strategy, automation, defect prevention, and production health monitoring, with AI treated as a core part of the workflow rather than an add-on. It is a remote position based in Latin America, with interview depth and scope calibrated to experience level (L1 through L4).

Responsibilities

- Own the quality strategy for assigned features and domains, including test plans, risk assessment, coverage decisions, and acceptance criteria in partnership with Product. - Write and maintain automated tests across API, integration, and end-to-end layers using the team's frameworks, and keep suites fast and reliable. - Integrate and maintain automated tests within the CI/CD pipeline so regressions are caught early. - Monitor features in production using observability tools, and respond to dev escalations and incidents with targeted regression testing and clear communication. - Use AI tools daily to generate test cases, draft test plans, analyze bug patterns, and accelerate automation, while critically reviewing all AI-generated output. - Write clear, reproducible bug reports and advocate for quality by flagging risks before release and documenting known issues.

Requirements

- Strong testing fundamentals, including test strategy, test case design, and risk-based prioritization. - Hands-on automation experience with Playwright or comparable browser automation frameworks. - Comfort with API testing using Postman or similar tools, and ability to read application logs. - Working in or genuine motivation to work in an AI-augmented QA workflow. - Clear written communication for bug reports and test plans others can act on asynchronously. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions and observability tooling such as AWS CloudWatch.

Nice to have

- Experience testing e-commerce, payments, or subscription platforms. - Familiarity with PHP, TypeScript, or Ruby codebases. - Exposure to subscription billing or payment processing flows.
