Product Manager – Payments

Role overview

We are hiring a Product Manager to lead the strategy, execution, and scale of a global payments infrastructure powering checkout, subscriptions, and digital product sales for an e-commerce platform used by tens of thousands of merchants. The role spans payment gateways, transaction routing, fraud, refunds, treasury, and reconciliation, working cross-functionally with engineering, design, compliance, operations, and customer success. It is a remote position based in the European Union.

Responsibilities

- Own and execute the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for the payments ecosystem, including checkout, gateways, transaction routing, fraud, refunds, treasury, and reconciliation. - Define, prioritize, and ship features that improve conversion, reduce friction, and support global scalability. - Integrate and maintain third-party payment providers such as Stripe, PayPal, and Authorize.net, and evaluate additional local methods, wallets, and bank debit options. - Ensure payment solutions meet regulatory requirements including PCI, PSD2, and SCA. - Monitor performance, adoption, and reliability using data and user feedback, and partner with customer success and support to resolve payment pain points. - Stay current on global payment trends, fintech regulations, and emerging technologies, and bring forward ideas aligned with company growth.

Requirements

- Proven track record of building and scaling payment systems in a SaaS, fintech, or e-commerce environment. - Deep understanding of payment infrastructure, including gateway integrations, card networks, fraud prevention, settlements, and chargebacks. - Strong technical fluency, comfortable working closely with engineers and interpreting API documentation. - Excellent communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills. - Data-driven mindset with the ability to define, measure, and act on product insights. - 3–5+ years of product management experience, ideally with direct ownership of payment products or platforms.

Nice to have

- Experience with global payment methods, subscriptions, recurring billing, or tax compliance tools. - Familiarity with payments orchestration systems and treasury systems. - Product management or payments certifications such as Pragmatic, AIPMM, CSPO, or ETA CPP. - Hands-on experience building or implementing AI agents and AI tools.
