Technical Product Owner – Projects (m/w/d), Remote (DE)

Role overview A remote Technical Product Owner role sits inside an IT Operations function, focused on steering the delivery of internal technology projects end to end. The position combines classic product ownership with hands-on project and program management, owning backlog, priorities, and outcomes for one or more operational initiatives from a Germany-based remote setup.

Responsibilities - Define, prioritise, and maintain the product backlog for IT operations projects, translating business needs into clear, actionable user stories. - Plan and coordinate delivery across cross-functional technical teams, tracking milestones, dependencies, risks, and scope changes. - Act as the primary point of contact between stakeholders and engineering, ensuring alignment on goals, timelines, and acceptance criteria. - Drive project governance, status reporting, and steering committee communication for ongoing programmes. - Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, tooling, or service quality through iterative delivery.

Requirements - Several years of experience (around 2-5) in IT project or programme management in an operational IT environment. - Familiarity with product ownership practices such as backlog grooming, release planning, and stakeholder management. - Comfortable working in a permanent, full-time remote role based in Germany, with strong written and verbal communication in German and English. - Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and keep delivery on track against shifting priorities.
