Product Owner, Technical - AI Finance

Role overview

A consumer financial services platform is hiring a Product Owner (Technical) to own product areas within its AI Finance group, spanning insurance, payments, savings, investing, and travel. The role is designed for builders who can frame user problems, define direction, partner closely with engineering and design, ship quickly, and keep iterating after launch. It is remote, but candidates must already be based in the US, and English fluency is required for global collaboration.

Responsibilities

- Own product areas across insurance, payments, savings, investing, travel, or other financial services end-to-end.

- Define user problems, product scope, success metrics, roadmaps, and launch plans.

- Work with engineering, design, data, operations, compliance, and business teams to deliver shipping products.

- Turn complex financial products into simple, usable customer journeys.

- Use data, feedback, research, and production issues to refine product decisions and prioritize experiments.

- Make trade-offs between speed, user experience, business impact, compliance, and operational complexity.

Requirements

- Experience as a Product Manager, Technical Product Owner, founder, or growth/product operator in a builder role.

- Strong product sense and the ability to simplify complex workflows for everyday users.

- Comfort working deeply with engineers and designers to ship real products, not just documentation.

- Comfort with metrics, user feedback, experiments, and post-launch learning cycles.

- Strong writing, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills, with high ownership and the ability to drive work with limited guidance.

- Background in fintech, insurance, payments, consumer apps, or other high-growth products is a strong advantage.

Nice to have

- A builder mindset: starts from user problems rather than feature lists, makes calls with incomplete data, ships quickly, and is honest about what changed because of their work.

- A willingness to push back on process when it slows delivery, while remaining accountable to outcomes.
