Role overview

Develop and maintain a peer-to-peer software stack in Node.js, while helping expand a broad ecosystem of reusable modules. The work centers on building production-ready, modular software for distributed systems and contributing to a globally distributed engineering effort.

Responsibilities - Develop and maintain components of a peer-to-peer stack using Node.js. - Build modular, maintainable software suitable for production-scale applications. - Create, manage, and extend reusable npm modules. - Test and debug software to maintain reliability across the codebase. - Contribute to expanding the surrounding developer ecosystem.

Requirements - Proven experience developing production-scale applications with Node.js. - Strong ability to write modular, maintainable code. - Experience creating and managing reusable npm packages. - Solid testing and debugging skills. - Interest or experience in peer-to-peer technologies or distributed systems. - Clear communication and comfort collaborating in a fully remote, globally distributed team.

Nice to have - Experience with native Node.js extensions in C or C++, or connecting JavaScript to lower-level code. - Experience improving network protocols or systems for latency or throughput. - Familiarity with advanced networking concepts. - Open-source contributions, especially in peer-to-peer or decentralized technology.
