Mobile Engineer - React Native (100% Remote) - Worldwide

Role overview Develop and maintain a peer-to-peer messaging and calling application for iOS and Android. The mobile interface uses React Native and Expo, while peer-to-peer processing runs locally through a dedicated JavaScript runtime. The role spans feature development, native device integrations and performance work, with responsibility from interface implementation through integration with the underlying peer-to-peer APIs.

Responsibilities - Build and refine features for chat, voice and video calls, media sharing, device pairing and identity backup. - Integrate iOS and Android capabilities such as push notifications, camera access, biometrics and background tasks. - Profile and improve performance on real devices, including startup, long conversations, media handling, battery use and network use. - Write unit and end-to-end tests, and help maintain stable releases using CI and crash reporting. - Work with peer-to-peer, design and product teams, and review code for quality.

Requirements - Significant experience with React Native and Redux, including Redux-Saga. - High proficiency in JavaScript and ES6 or later. - Experience building or maintaining mobile applications, with attention to usability and performance. - Ability to collaborate with distributed teams and communicate effectively in English.

Nice to have - Knowledge of Swift or Kotlin and native development tools such as Xcode or Android Studio. - Experience working with peer-to-peer frameworks. - Interest in modernizing and optimizing mobile or web applications.
