Engineering Manager, EMEA (Platform)

Role overview Lead the engineering team responsible for the core platform capabilities that clients use every day to plan, run, and manage testing work. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, owning technical direction and delivery for these domains while raising the team's operating standards and modernizing legacy systems. A central focus is embedding AI agents into the product's core workflows, moving beyond assistive features toward workflows that can plan, execute, and adapt testing work on their own. This is a 100% remote position based in the UK, Spain, Portugal, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, or Estonia, with visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities - Spend roughly 20–30% of time hands-on: writing production code, reviewing critical-path pull requests, and signing off on key technical designs. - Lead the design and delivery of agentic workflows inside the core product, integrating with AI/ML partners on the underlying models and frameworks. - Set multi-quarter technical direction for the owned domains, partnering with product on roadmap and architecture. - Modernize legacy systems by consolidating fragmented data models, evolving older services, and bringing transactional integrity to existing data stores so AI agents can act on the platform safely. - Own technical delivery end-to-end, from concept and design through to production launch, jointly with a dedicated product partner. - Manage, coach, and grow a distributed engineering team of 4+ engineers in an agile, remote environment.

Requirements - 5+ years managing an engineering team of 4 or more engineers in an agile, fully remote setting. - Recent hands-on experience writing production code and designing or evolving production systems. - Hands-on experience building LLM-powered or agentic features in production (orchestration, tool use, retrieval, evaluation), or a strong track record of leading a team into a new technical domain quickly. - Strong technical affinity with TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, and React, plus solid experience designing and building APIs. - Familiarity with observability and APM tools and a track record of optimizing slow database transactions. - Knowledge of application security best practices and experience integrating security review into the SDLC. - Experience modernizing legacy systems or paying down significant technical debt while keeping the product running. - Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to collaborate effectively with product and cross-functional partners in a distributed, async setting.

Nice to have - Familiarity with GraphQL and Kafka. - Prior experience managing a SaaS product.
