A fast-growing Series A AI startup is hiring a Developer Advocate to serve as the company's visible presence within the Bay Area developer ecosystem. This is a builder-first role centred on hands-on creation, community engagement, and conference speaking across the United States. The position suits a self-directed individual who thrives with minimal oversight, as the broader team operates out of London.

Responsibilities

- Build applications, integrations, and creative projects using the platform that demonstrate AI-native development patterns and inspire community adoption - Maintain an active presence at Bay Area meetups and hackathons, demoing projects and presenting possibilities in agentic coding - Produce written and video content—articles, tutorials, guides—delivering practical insight into AI-native software development - Travel to deliver customer presentations and conference talks throughout the US - Continuously survey the AI developer tooling landscape for integration opportunities and ecosystem connections - Engage developer communities through webinars, podcasts, Discord servers, Slack groups, subreddits, and newsletters

Requirements

- Established presence in the Bay Area AI developer scene, recognised at local meetups and hackathons with an active online voice - Deep engagement with cutting-edge agentic development tools and a clear point of view on emerging approaches - Builder's mindset with a preference for shipping working artefacts over describing ideas - Self-directed and comfortable operating autonomously with limited day-to-day direction - Experience travelling and presenting at customer sessions and conferences - Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical AI topics - Sufficient development ability to build, hack, and ship code independently

- Experience with open-source communities and contributor ecosystems - An existing network within the Bay Area AI developer tooling space - Comfort thriving in a fast-moving, early-stage startup environment
