Senior AI Engineer

Role overview

A boutique AI consultancy is hiring a Senior AI Engineer to design and ship production-grade AI systems for enterprise clients. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers while owning end-to-end delivery of ML and LLM solutions. It is a client-facing position focused on agentic AI, RAG systems, fine-tuning, and ML-driven products deployed across major cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

- Architect, build, and deploy production ML and LLM systems including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, fine-tuning pipelines, and embedding-based applications for enterprise clients - Own technical delivery from initial architecture and prototyping through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing iteration - Partner directly with client engineering and product teams to translate business needs into scoped, shippable technical solutions - Mentor junior ML engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and structured knowledge sharing - Shape internal best practices, tooling, and technical standards as the engineering organization scales - Represent the team in client workshops and technical conversations, with optional conference speaking opportunities

Requirements

- 5+ years of professional experience in Machine Learning, AI Engineering, or a closely related role - Strong Python skills with a track record of writing clean, efficient, well-documented production code - Hands-on experience designing, training, optimizing, and deploying ML models using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn - Practical experience building GenAI and LLM systems, including RAG pipelines, chatbot architectures, and frameworks like LangChain - Familiarity with MLOps practices such as model versioning, monitoring, and CI/CD for ML workflows - Experience deploying and scaling ML systems on AWS, GCP, or Azure, with strong debugging and performance optimization skills
