Role overview
A fully remote, client-facing architect role that blends deep machine-learning engineering with strategic consulting to shape production-grade AI systems for external organizations. The position centers on leading high-stakes engagements, designing agentic AI, recommender, and decision-support platforms, and serving as the senior technical voice across discovery, build, and deployment phases.
Responsibilities
- Own technical strategy and architecture for complex ML and agentic AI engagements, translating ambiguous business problems into scalable system designs. - Act as the primary technical point of contact for client stakeholders, including C-level executives, while managing expectations and ensuring successful delivery. - Lead, mentor, and review work from ML engineers and researchers, setting technical direction and taking accountability for outcomes. - Architect advanced solutions spanning large language models, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, multi-agent workflows, and high-performance search or recommender systems. - Drive projects end-to-end, from discovery and architectural design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration in production environments.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience building and operating large-scale, production-grade ML and software systems. - Demonstrated client-facing leadership, with the ability to steer technical discussions alongside engineering teams and senior executives. - Deep Python expertise and fluency with the broader data science ecosystem (for example, pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn). - Practical, expert-level command of modern AI patterns, including LLMs, agentic frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph, and classical ML at scale. - Strong architectural grounding in MLOps and cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or GCP, with attention to scalability, reliability, and low-latency behavior. - BSc, MSc, or PhD in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical expertise.
Nice to have
- Hands-on familiarity with tools and libraries such as FastAPI, Docker, TensorFlow, LightGBM, CatBoost, LlamaIndex, Langfuse, MLflow, or Kubeflow. - Background in learning-to-rank, recommender algorithms, ad-tech platforms, or fine-tuning foundation models. - Domain exposure to high-stakes settings such as healthcare, finance, or e-commerce.
