Director and Practice Lead, Data Engineering

Role overview Set the direction and lead the commercial and delivery performance of a data engineering practice serving enterprise clients. The role combines practice strategy, full financial accountability, business development, talent leadership, and executive-level advice on data strategy, AI adoption, and governance.

Responsibilities - Define a multi-year practice vision and align data engineering capabilities with enterprise demand for data and AI transformation. - Own practice financial performance, including pipeline, pricing, revenue growth, and delivery margins; report results to executive leadership. - Build relationships with cloud partner organizations and client executives to generate opportunities and expand strategic accounts. - Advise senior client leaders on data strategy, AI adoption, governance, and the organizational capabilities needed to sustain change. - Guide the practice’s approach to responsible AI and broader access to data, making evidence-based choices about where analytics and AI can create value. - Invest in reusable intellectual property, accelerators, and delivery assets, while hiring, developing, and retaining strong engineering and consulting teams.

Requirements - At least 12 years of experience in data or AI consulting, including three to five or more years in practice leadership or an executive role. - Demonstrated ownership of revenue, margin, and growth targets in consulting or professional services. - Strong command of modern data architecture, AI and machine learning trends, cloud-native data platforms, and enterprise data governance. - Ability to advise and challenge C-suite stakeholders on complex, ambiguous issues and build lasting trust. - Track record of generating business pipeline and closing complex, multi-stakeholder engagements. - Experience hiring, developing, and retaining senior data engineering or consulting talent.
