Job details
About this role
Role overview Help build an AI-assisted risk intelligence platform that enables organizations to identify and respond to emerging online threats. You’ll own software features from written specification through production, using coding agents as a regular part of development. This is a hands-on individual contributor role that also contributes to improving the team’s development workflow, testing practices, and delivery tooling.
Responsibilities - Turn product needs into clear specifications, technical plans, and tasks that guide AI coding agents. - Use coding agents to implement features, then inspect, test, and refine their output. - Deliver features across backend services, APIs, and integrations, from planning to production. - Define acceptance criteria and automated tests early to verify implementations against requirements. - Maintain project context, coding standards, reusable prompts, and templates that support consistent agent output. - Review AI-generated and human-written code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability. - Improve spec-driven development practices, tooling, and CI/CD, and share effective approaches with the team. - Take part in daily standups and technical discussions with a US-based client team.
Requirements - At least four years of professional experience shipping production software. - Regular hands-on use of AI coding agents as part of development, beyond autocomplete. - Practical experience writing specifications, plans, or structured requirements to guide implementation. - Strong backend skills in Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or Go, including REST APIs and SQL databases; or full-stack skills that also include React or a similar framework. - Strong testing discipline, including unit and integration tests and test-first habits. - Experience with Git workflows, code review, CI/CD, and deployment to AWS, GCP, or Azure. - Excellent spoken and written English, especially for specifications and documentation.
Nice to have - Experience building LLM features such as retrieval-augmented generation, agents, or tool calling. - Experience establishing shared AI development tools, agent rules, or prompt libraries. - Background in data-heavy or SaaS products, particularly security, threat intelligence, or trust and safety. - Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or infrastructure as code such as Terraform. - Experience with US-based clients or distributed teams.
Benefits and work setup - Remote contract role based in Mexico.
