UI/UX Designer (f/m/d) - Remote in Germany

Role overview A remote UI/UX Designer position based in Germany, focused on shaping how engineers interact with complex simulation and analysis tools through an AI-powered automation platform. The work centers on translating intricate engineering tool details into scalable visual patterns, designing node-based interfaces, and building AI-assisted workflow experiences that compress automation timelines from months into days.

Responsibilities - Drive discovery and continuous feedback loops by engaging directly with engineering users from aerospace, automotive, and adjacent industries to validate assumptions and refine the experience. - Design individual node interfaces for integrated engineering tools, develop scalable interaction patterns, and contribute to iconography and information architecture. - Translate technical tool specifications into clear, user-friendly abstractions and own the design from early concepts through polished, high-fidelity prototypes. - Operate within a product trio alongside a Product Manager and Tech Lead to shape product vision, gather requirements, and champion the user's perspective. - Evolve the 3D viewer to support new engineering domains and contribute to AI-based workflow building experiences. - Participate actively in design critiques, helping raise consistency and quality across the broader design system.

Requirements - 4+ years of hands-on UI/UX design experience, ideally with products serving the mechanical engineering domain. - Working understanding of engineering processes, including simulation methods such as FEA or CFD. - Experience with 3D interfaces or visualization tools. - Demonstrated end-to-end design ownership, spanning discovery research through shipped product. - Strong visual design skills with a sharp eye for layout, typography, and color, backed by a polished portfolio. - Advanced proficiency with Figma. - Experience embedded closely with product managers and engineers in agile, iterative environments, comfortable navigating ambiguity and defining a path forward in fast-moving teams.

Nice to have - Background collaborating with users from CFD, optimization, or mechanical engineering workflows. - Familiarity with visual programming interfaces or node-based design systems. - Exposure to low-code or automation tooling.
