AV Scriptwriter
Job details
About this role
Role overview An AV Scriptwriter role focused on turning creative briefs into production-ready scripts for video work of every length. Projects span roughly 15-second social and performance cuts through to longer branded and explainer films, covering motion graphics, live action, stock-led video, and UGC formats. The position calls for someone who understands how words, visuals, pacing, and sound work together and who can write dialogue, voiceover, and on-screen copy that sounds natural when heard.
Responsibilities - Concept and script video content across formats, from short-form social cuts to longer brand and explainer films. - Develop two or three distinct creative directions from a brief, each with a clear sense of how it would work as a video, supported by references and a potential title approach. - Take a chosen direction through to a strong, production-ready script, including dialogue, voiceover, and on-screen copy. - Build a compelling hook, structure a clear narrative, and adapt naturally between different brands, audiences, tones, and platforms. - Partner with creative teams to align scripts with visual direction and brand guidelines, revising through feedback.
Requirements - Proven AV scriptwriting experience, ideally with an agency background rather than primarily general copywriting. - A portfolio built around video concepts and scripts, not mainly websites, blogs, or general marketing copy. - Excellent command of English and a strong sense of pacing, tone, and structure in scriptwriting. - Strong collaboration skills and openness to iteration with creative directors, designers, and producers. - Demonstrated ability to shift between brands, audiences, tones, and platforms without losing narrative clarity.
Nice to have - Interest in or familiarity with AI tools for creative ideation or drafting.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote setup, with collaboration across multiple time zones. - Membership in a globally distributed creative team spanning many nationalities and disciplines. - A high-trust, feedback-driven culture with direct communication and room for rapid growth. - Mentorship and meaningful ownership of projects at a stage where individual ideas still shape outcomes. - Equal-opportunity hiring regardless of ethnicity, appearance, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, veteran, or disability status.
