Product Lead - Infrastructure

Role overview

Own the product direction for the infrastructure layer shared by a large developer and enterprise platform. The scope includes compute, storage, networking, the API gateway, capacity planning, geographic regions, and enterprise capabilities such as read replicas, custom domains, private connectivity, and customer-managed deployments. You will be the primary product leader for this area, setting priorities and expanding the team as the platform grows.

Responsibilities

- Interview customers ranging from individual developers and startups to enterprises evaluating network architecture and partners building on the platform. - Define the problem, requirements, commercial rationale, and operational constraints behind each infrastructure investment. - Prioritize among enterprise capabilities, cost and performance improvements, reliability work, and new platform functionality. - Set service levels that reflect customer experience and hold teams accountable for operating at large database and workload scale. - Establish launch metrics, thresholds, and post-release reviews tied to enterprise adoption, project economics, or platform reliability. - Keep engineering, design, and leadership aligned through clear written plans, sequencing, dependencies, and tradeoffs.

Requirements

- At least eight years of product management experience in developer tools, cloud infrastructure, or a closely related area, or equivalent experience as a founder in the space. - Technical fluency sufficient to read architecture documents and participate meaningfully in design discussions. - Direct ownership of shipped infrastructure involving compute, networking, storage, or multi-region and multi-tenant systems. - Understanding of capacity, instance sizing, storage economics, scale-to-zero versus always-on operation, and shared versus dedicated infrastructure. - Experience growing an infrastructure product until cost, capacity, reliability, and regional scale became central product constraints. - Strong bias toward shipping, learning from real usage, and making decisions asynchronously in writing.

- Familiarity with how enterprises procure infrastructure, including private connectivity and customer-managed deployment models. - Hands-on experience using the infrastructure products you own, such as creating replicas, configuring domains, or routing traffic through private network paths. - Comfort using AI tools for research, drafting, and synthesis while reserving judgment for product decisions.
