Field Service Engineer (ESS / PV) - France (South)

About this role
Role overview A field-based engineering role supporting customers across southern France who use solar PV, battery energy storage, and EV charging equipment. The engineer serves as the main technical contact, handling inquiries, troubleshooting, and ensuring that deployed systems continue to operate reliably.
Responsibilities - Carry out on-site installation, preventive maintenance, and upgrade work for utility and commercial-scale solar and storage systems. - Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, resolving service requests and field issues efficiently. - Partner with project management teams during commissioning, handover, and site acceptance testing. - Follow operational procedures and applicable health and safety regulations on every site visit. - Maintain accurate service records and documentation to support active and future maintenance contracts. - Participate in on-call rotations to provide timely support when critical issues arise.
Requirements - Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent hands-on electrician background. - Full professional fluency in both English and French at C1 level or above. - Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across France. - Comfort with on-call duty and independent field work. - Solid electrical safety mindset and ability to work on active energy systems.
Nice to have - Prior experience servicing battery energy storage systems. - Working knowledge of Mandarin Chinese for collaboration with international teams. - Familiarity with the European solar energy market and PV inverter, ESS, and EV charger product lines.
