Staff Network Engineer (AI Fabric, Datacenter and Edge Networking) - Radian Arc
Job details
About this role
Role overview
This Staff Network Engineer role is the first dedicated networking position at a GPU-based infrastructure-as-a-service platform that runs cloud gaming, AI, and machine learning workloads inside telecom carrier networks. The position combines Staff-level architectural ownership and cross-functional influence with direct, hands-on execution across design, deployment, automation, and operations. Scope spans high-performance east-west GPU fabrics, classical datacenter networking, inter-datacenter transport, and edge deployments from hyperscale sites down to smaller locations.
Responsibilities
- Design and operate GPU networking fabrics supporting distributed training and inference workloads - Architect large-scale RoCE and Ethernet topologies such as leaf-spine, fat-tree, rail, and multi-plane - Build scalable Layer-2 and Layer-3 datacenter networks using BGP, ECMP, overlays, and tenant isolation - Maintain north-south ingress/egress routing, network bridges, routing stacks, and external connectivity - Define reusable reference architectures and engineering standards so future deployments follow consistent patterns - Serve as senior escalation point for ambiguous, high-impact, cross-layer networking incidents
Requirements
- Track record designing AI infrastructure networking solutions at scale - Deep knowledge of RDMA, RoCE, and high-bandwidth east-west interconnect technologies - Strong grasp of datacenter routing, multi-tenant segmentation, and overlay networking - Ability to debug complex issues spanning hardware, firmware, kernel networking, and distributed application layers - Solid automation skills in Python and/or Bash applied to infrastructure tooling - Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives through influence rather than formal authority
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with Spectrum-X or comparable high-speed fabric platforms - Familiarity with distributed training frameworks and GPU communication libraries - Background designing network observability systems
Benefits and work setup
- Remote position with a globally distributed engineering team - Full-time or contract engagement, starting August 2026 - Flexible, hybrid-friendly culture with international diversity - Compensation package calibrated to experience and expertise - Equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace
