Engineering Manager, Billing Products

Role overview A people-management role leading an engineering team responsible for billing platform products that power invoicing, subscriptions, and revenue workflows for business customers. The manager balances hands-on technical guidance with team development, delivery execution, and strategic alignment with broader platform and finance goals.

Responsibilities - Manage, coach, and grow a team of engineers working on billing infrastructure, APIs, and supporting services - Own the roadmap and delivery cadence for billing product capabilities, balancing reliability and velocity - Partner with stakeholders across product, finance, and compliance to scope and prioritize work - Ensure the correctness, reliability, and scalability of billing systems that process high-volume transactions - Drive engineering best practices around code quality, testing, and operational excellence - Hire, onboard, and develop engineers across multiple levels of seniority

Requirements - Several years of engineering management experience, ideally on billing, payments, or fintech products - Strong technical background with the ability to review designs, debug hard problems, and unblock engineers - Demonstrated success delivering complex backend systems at scale - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with cross-functional partners - Track record of building inclusive, high-performing engineering teams

Nice to have - Experience with subscription billing, invoicing engines, or revenue recognition systems - Background working in regulated environments such as PCI, SOX, or similar compliance frameworks
