Senior Engineering Manager

Role overview Lead and grow a high-performing engineering organization building consumer financial products used by millions of customers. This leadership position blends hands-on technical judgment with people management, partnering across product, design, data, risk, and operations to ship reliable, scalable systems. The role carries broad influence across mobile, web, backend, and machine learning platforms, helping shape technical strategy and engineering culture during a phase of rapid growth.

Responsibilities - Recruit, mentor, and retain engineering talent, cultivating career growth and an environment where teams can do their best work. - Translate company and product priorities into clear engineering plans that balance delivery speed, quality, and long-term technical investment. - Guide architectural direction and technical strategy across backend, mobile, web, data, and machine learning systems. - Own end-to-end delivery of features, from technical discovery and planning through production launch, measurement, and iteration. - Establish and uphold strong engineering practices around code quality, testing, observability, reliability, security, and operational excellence. - Contribute to architecture reviews, design discussions, and incident response while developing the next generation of technical leaders. - Partner cross-functionally with product, design, data science, risk, fraud, operations, and growth to deliver meaningful customer outcomes.

Requirements - 8+ years of software engineering experience, including substantial time leading engineering teams. - Proven success as an Engineering Manager, Senior Engineering Manager, or equivalent leadership role. - Strong computer science fundamentals and experience building and operating scalable, reliable production systems. - Demonstrated ability to lead engineers across multiple disciplines such as backend, mobile, web, data, or machine learning. - Sound technical judgment with experience making architectural decisions in complex, distributed environments. - Track record of shipping products from inception through production in a fast-paced setting, plus a history of hiring, developing, and retaining high performers. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical decisions into customer and business impact.
